Czech Digital Group selects IMPEQ to provide a complete Digital Head-end solution

The combined satellite and digital terrestrial head-end, operational since January 2009, provides new broadcast channels and services to Czech Digital Group (CDG) customers. CDG operates the  satellite platform CSLink and the National DTT network B in the Czech Republic.

Veldhoven (NL), June 15, 2009: IMPEQ Technologies today announced that Czech Digital Group, a major Czech operator, selected IMPEQ to provide a complete Digital Head-end solution for the combined transmission of new terrestrial and satellite services.

Long term agreement
The hybrid system was designed by IMPEQ using compression and multiplexing products from Harmonic and DVB-SI servers from EventIS. IMPEQ is the leading global solutions partner for Harmonic Inc. and EventIS supplying total solutions and services to satellite, terrestrial, cable and IPTV sectors. The latest IP-based head-end technology optimises the number of encoders needed for this HD ready cross-platform transmission system.  As part of this significant long-term agreement IMPEQ also provides integration services, project management and on-going 24x7 umbrella multi-vendor support for all the equipment.

" We selected IMPEQ to be our solution provider as they have the expertise to provide complete turnkey head-end systems. We've been able to launch these new channels in a fast time frame, which will provide us with a quick return on investment" said Tomáš Vlcek, CDG’s Technical Director.  We were confident that with IMPEQ’s wide ranging experience we could meet our on-air deadline and have a system that can be expanded into the future. All of our goals for this project have been achieved.”

Technology and Services

“ This is another important delivery for IMPEQ” said Sergio Pirota, Regional Sales Manager, IMPEQ Technologies. " The Eastern European, and notably Czech broadcast market is innovative and highly competitive. Our customers need our total assurance that their system will be delivered and operating in the shortest possible time. IMPEQ’s multi-vendor service capability means we are uniquely able to provide this. By carefully selecting the best technology partners this assurance continues in the form of flexibility and high availability throughout the systems lifetime. We are very pleased to have provided CDG’s business with a competitive advantage through technology and services.”
